Summary:
The Data Science Engineer will play a key role in leveraging advanced analytics, machine learning, and data engineering skills to support the development of EnergyKarma's data-driven energy trading platform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing data models, developing machine learning algorithms, and deploying scalable data solutions that drive decision-making and optimize trading processes within the EnergyKarma ecosystem.Responsibilities:

• Data Modeling and Analysis:
  • Design and implement robust data models to support predictive analytics and forecasting for energy production and trading.
  • Analyze large, complex datasets from IoT devices, blockchain systems, and external data sources to extract actionable insights.
• Machine Learning and AI Development:
  • Develop and deploy machine learning models for real-time energy trading, demand forecasting, and risk assessment.
  • Utilize AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-Learn to build and refine models.
• Data Pipeline Development:
  • Build and maintain ETL pipelines to ingest, process, and transform data for downstream analysis.
  • Ensure data quality, reliability, and scalability in pipelines, using tools like Apache Spark and Kafka.
• Collaboration and Integration:
  • Collaborate with IoT engineers, software developers, and business stakeholders to align data science solutions with business goals.
  • Integrate data science models and solutions into the EnergyKarma platform for seamless access by end-users.
• Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
  • Monitor model performance, analyze results, and implement optimizations to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Document model parameters, performance metrics, and validation results to support transparency and reproducibility.
• Research and Innovation:
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and AI, and identify new techniques to enhance EnergyKarma’s capabilities.
  • Continuously improve existing models and explore innovative approaches to meet evolving project needs.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years in data science, machine learning, or data engineering.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and R for data analysis and model building.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn).
  • Familiarity with data engineering tools (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases for data extraction and management.
• Soft Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with blockchain data analysis and integration.
• Background in energy or utilities sector, with knowledge of energy production, consumption, or trading patterns.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
