Summary:
The Sr. Energy IoT Engineer will play a central role in designing and implementing IoT solutions for the EnergyKarma platform, enabling real-time energy monitoring, data collection, and automation within a secure blockchain-based trading platform. This position requires an in-depth understanding of IoT devices, data management, and energy systems to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions in the energy sector.Responsibilities:

• IoT System Design and Development:
  • Design and implement IoT hardware and software systems to monitor and manage energy data.
  • Develop secure, scalable IoT architectures that integrate seamlessly with EnergyKarma’s platform.
• Device Integration and Communication:
  • Integrate IoT devices with EnergyKarma’s platform, using IoT protocols and ensuring data reliability.
  • Enable seamless communication and interoperability with cloud platforms and blockchain components.
• Data Collection and Management:
  • Create systems for real-time data collection from IoT sensors monitoring energy production and usage.
  • Implement data preprocessing techniques to ensure accuracy and usability of data for analytics and machine learning.
• Security and Compliance:
  • Develop security protocols to protect IoT data and devices, following industry best practices for secure IoT networks.
  • Ensure IoT solutions meet regulatory and compliance standards for data protection and energy monitoring.
• Performance Optimization and Troubleshooting:
  • Monitor IoT network performance, optimize data flow, and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Implement measures for low-latency, high-throughput data transfer to support real-time decision-making.
• Collaboration and Reporting:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software engineers, and blockchain developers.
  • Document IoT system architecture, workflows, and processes, generating reports to monitor and assess performance.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (Master's preferred).
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in IoT development, specifically within the energy or utilities sector.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency with IoT communication protocols (e.g., MQTT, CoAP, LoRaWAN).
  • Experience with IoT platforms like AWS IoT, Azure IoT, or Google Cloud IoT.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, C++, and JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of embedded systems, hardware interfacing, and IoT security practices.
  • Familiarity with energy monitoring devices, sensors, and data processing for energy applications.
• Soft Skills:
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with blockchain and distributed ledger technologies.
• Knowledge of data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to present IoT data insights.
• Familiarity with agile and Scrum development methodologies.
