Job Description

Summary:
MenschForce LLC is looking for an experienced Database Developer to join the EnergyKarma project, an advanced blockchain-based energy trading platform powered by Sonicorn. This role will involve designing, optimizing, and managing databases critical to EnergyKarma’s data integrity, performance, and scalability. The Database Developer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data solutions align with platform goals and business needs.Responsibilities:

• Database Design and Development:
  • Design and develop highly scalable and efficient database solutions, ensuring data consistency and high performance.
  • Build data models, define entity relationships, and optimize storage and retrieval structures.
• Data Integration and ETL Processes:
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes to integrate data from IoT devices, blockchain networks, and external sources into EnergyKarma's platform.
  • Ensure data quality and reliability in all ETL pipelines.
• Performance Optimization:
  • Analyze and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures for maximum efficiency.
  • Implement indexing, partitioning, and other optimization techniques to improve database performance.
• Data Security and Compliance:
  • Implement database security protocols to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Establish access controls, encryption methods, and data masking practices to safeguard information.
• Collaboration and Requirements Gathering:
  • Work closely with application developers, data scientists, and business analysts to understand data needs and develop effective database solutions.
  • Participate in cross-functional team meetings to align database development with project requirements.
• Documentation and Reporting:
  • Create comprehensive documentation for database structures, schemas, ETL processes, and procedures.
  • Generate reports to monitor data integrity, security, and database performance.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in database development and management.
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, database design, and optimization.
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
  • Knowledge of data integration and ETL tools, such as Apache NiFi or Talend.
  • Familiarity with cloud database solutions, including AWS RDS, Azure SQL, or Google Cloud SQL.
  • Understanding of database security practices and data privacy regulations.
• Soft Skills:
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities across multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with blockchain data storage and integration.
• Knowledge of advanced data modeling techniques for distributed systems.
• Familiarity with data warehousing and reporting tools, such as Power BI or Tableau.
